Q: How do I earn points?
A: Panel members can earn points by participating in promotional opportunities, referring friends to The Media Panel, updating their contact information when requested, filling out point-eligible questionnaires, and more.
Q: How many points can I earn?
A: Media Panel members can earn an unlimited amount of points!
Q: How do I see my points total?
A: Media Panel members can view their point totals from any page on this site www.profile.themediapanel.com at the top right hand corner next to Account.
Q: How can I spend my points?
A: You must be a Media Panel member to participate. Redeem your points by visiting the Catalog Page. Choose the prize item(s) you would like to purchase and add the item(s) to your shopping cart. When you are finished browsing, simply follow the check-out instructions, verify your mailing address when prompted, and your item will ship around the 15th of the following month. Points are non-refundable after they have been redeemed.
Q: How can I use my points for charity?
A: Panel members have the opportunity to give back to the Austin and surrounding community by redeeming their points for small or large charitable donation amounts to a local nonprofit partner. Non-profit partnerships are chosen by MediaScience.
Q: How much is shipping and handling?
A: Shipping and handling is free to the Panel Member because it is factored in to the point value of a given prize. Points calculated for shipping costs are subject to the rules and regulations of the US Postal Service and will vary depending on the product size and weight.
Q: When will my package ship?
A: Your item will ship around the 15th of the following month of placing your order. For example: if you place your order in June, then your order will ship out in July on or around the 15th. HEB e-gift card orders will be processed the following month of receiving the order request.
Q: Where will my prize be sent?
A: Prizes will be sent to the mailing address panel members have provided associated with their account. Before you are able to check out, we will prompt you to verify your address to ensure the prize arrives at its intended destination. We highly suggest you keep your panel member profile updated with any new addresses or contact information. HEB e-gift card orders will be processed the following month on our around the 15th of receiving the order request. A confirmation email will be sent directly from HEB to the email address listed in the participant's profile.
Q: How do I claim my prize?
A: Once a prize is redeemed online, and your address is verified, prizes will be shipped to each panel member individually to the address they have provided. Panel members will not be able to pick up prizes at our offices, no exceptions please.
Q: My Prize has been lost or stolen, will MediaScience replace it?
A: MediaScience is not responsible for prizes once they have left our facility. We will ask you to verify the mailing address on your account page prior to completing your purchase. MediaScience is not responsible for shipping errors. Media Science will not replace lost or stolen prize items. Please contact the Panel Manager with questions at (512) 837-5646.
Q: My AMEX Gift Card does not work, will MediaScience replace it?
A: The friendly staff at MediaScience will be happy to assist you. We are not, however, able to replace your gift card. Once a gift card is given to you, any problems should be made known to American Express directly. Locate the 1-800 number on the back of your gift card to contact an American Express customer service representative. You may also visit http://www.simon.com/giftcard/ for Frequently Asked Questions and retrieving your balance.
Q: What is The Panel Channel all about?
A: The Panel Channel is a place to access your Media Panel profile, and a fun way to reward yourself when you participate in studies, questionnaires, and more. Earn points with The Media Panel, then spend your points on something fun for yourself, or give back to the community with donations to one of our non-profit partners. We will even offer specials now and then, so what are you waiting for? Register Now!
Q: Where do I start?
A: Visit the “Get Started” Page and follow the instructions based on your membership status.
Q: How do I claim my account?
A1: If you are already a member, click on the “Claim my account” button on the login page and you will be given on-screen instructions to activate your account.
A2: If you are not yet a member, but are interested in becoming one, click on the “Create a profile” button on the login page and follow the on-screen instructions to create your account.
Q: How do I recover my password?
A: If you have forgotten your password, you can click on "I forgot my password" located directly beneath the password field on the Log In page. This will send an email to the address you have provided with a link to reset your password. It will then ask you to provide your 5 digit member ID for confirmation. If you cannot remember your ID number, please call our offices at 512-837-5646 and we will be happy to assist you.
Q: How can I deactivate my account?
A: If you wish to deactivate your account, please call our offices at 512-837-5646 and we will be happy to assist you. You may also submit a written request to deactivate your profile to firstname.lastname@example.org and the Panel Manager will reply with a confirmation email. The Panel Channel Rewards program is not available to inactive Media Panel members. MediaScience reserves to right to remove any panel member from The Media Panel for any reason at any time.
Q: How can I update my contact information?
A: To update your information, click on “Account” to see your Profile, then edit any information on your Profile that you would like to change. Click on Save Changes to complete the update.
Q: I have a new email address. Can I still sign in?
A: Yes. Sign in using the email address you registered with. Once you are signed in, click on Profile and edit the contact information you would like to change. Click on Save Changes to complete the update. From this point forward, you will be able to sign in with your new email address.
Q: Where can I find my member ID number?
A: Your Member ID is available on your Profile under Account, and is also the same 5 digits you use to log in to your account.
Q: How can I tell if I am eligible for a study?
A: If you are eligible for a study, a member of our team will notify you via phone or email and help you schedule an appointment. MediaScience also offers Online Questionnaires and Phone Screeners to qualify for studies requiring more specific criteria. We encourage our Media Panel members to participate in as many questionnaires as possible to increase your chances of participating.
Q: Who can join The Media Panel?
A: All residents of The Greater Austin Area, ages 18 and up are welcome to join The Media Panel and help TV evolve. Once you are a Panel member, you may start earning and redeeming points on The Panel Channel.
Q: How can I become a MediaPanel member?
A: You can become a media panel member by visiting our website www.mediasciencepanel.com and creating a profile. You will need an Invitation Code to register, please call our offices at (512) 837-5646 if you do not have one. See the next FAQ for information on signing up a friend.
Q: My friends or family members want to join The Media Panel, what information should I give them?
A: Thanks for sharing your Media Panel experience with your friends and family! Please have them visit www.mediasciencepanel.com and follow the "Sign Me Up" link. Use the invitation code “FRIEND” and provide your Email Address as the referral email located at the bottom of the registration form.The email address entered on the registration form MUST match the email address we have on file for the referring panel member in order to receive points. You will receive 600 points for every person you refer that successfully registers, 600 Points will be awarded after the newly referred Panel member participates in their first research study. Certain limitations apply.
